Η Μαριλένα είναι εκπαιδευτικός χορού και κίνησης, πιστοποιημένη Feldenkrais practitioner (CPF) από το Ευρωπαικό Eurotab(European Accreditation Board), χορεύτρια και μουσικός. Διδάσκει κίνηση-χορό και τη Μέθοδο Feldenkrais για το ευρύ ή ειδικό κοινό, από το 2014 σε ομαδικά μαθήματα/σεμινάρια ή αναλαμβάνοντας ατομικές συνεδρίες. Το 2016 υπήρξε ιδρυτικό μέλος του Κέντρου Feldenkrais στην Αθήνα. Διδάσκει επίσης κίνηση σε βρεφικά-νηπιακά εργαστήρια μαζί με γονείς, σε νήπια και παιδιά προσχολικής και σχολικής ηλικίας, σε παιδιά με ιδιαίτερες κινητικές και αναπτυξιακές ανάγκες (σε ατομικές συνεδρίες).
Σπούδασε κλασσικό και σύγχρονο χορό στην Κρατική Σχολή Ορχηστικής Τέχνης και στο Northern School of Contemporary Dance (Leeds, UK) και τύμπανα στο Ωδείο Μουσικής Πράξης. Είναι απόφοιτος της 4ετούς επαγγελματικής εκπαίδευσης στη Μέθοδο Feldenkrais®, Feldenkrais International Training Programme "Greece I" .
Συνεργάζεται ως χορεύτρια με χορογράφους και σκηνοθέτες θεάτρου σε Ελλάδα και Αγγλία από το 1999 μέχρι σήμερα. Ήταν μακρόχρονη συνεργάτης των ομάδων Yelp (Μαριέλα Νέστορα) και ZHTA (Ίρις Καραγιάν) στην Αθήνα. Παράλληλα έχει ασχοληθεί για αρκετά χρόνια με την πολιτιστική διαχείριση/παραγωγή και έχει συνεργαστεί με μεγάλα και μικρά φεστιβάλ και πολιτιστικούς οργανισμούς στον ελληνικό χώρο (Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών, Athens Bienale, Μικρό Μουσκό Θέατρο, Φεστιβάλ VideoDance, MIR Festival κ.α.)
Ως δασκάλα κίνησης έχει συνεργαστεί με στούντιο και σχολές χορού, με το Παιχνιδαγωγείο, τη Στέγη του Ιδρύματος Ωνάση, το Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος υλοποιώντας βρεφικά/παιδικά εργαστήρια κίνησης.

Marilena Petridou is a Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, dance/movement teacher, dancer and musician born and based in Athens, GR.
Her background is working in the dance field since 1997 as a dancer/performer, mainly for YELP and ZITA dance companies based in Athens-GR, as well as for various other greek and international choreographers. Parallel to her dancing activities, she has also worked as an arts/dance/press administrator and production assistant for various cultural organizations and companies.
She graduated as a practitioner in the Feldenkrais Method, following the Feldenkrais International Training Programme "Greece I", under the ed.direction of Ruty Bar (2012-1015) and is certified by the Eurotab (European Accreditation Board).
She teaches dance/movement for children and adults since 2002 and recently also started running movement play programs for babies and toddlers.
She teaches the Feldenkrais Method since 2014, while in 2016 together within a collective frame of colleagues/co-graduates in the Feldenkrais method, launched the “Feldenkrais Center” in Athens, a studio centered around teaching, expanding and promoting the Method in Greece, accessing as many target groups as possible.
Her interests lie in how the F.method can become one of the tools for supporting and inspiring dance and physical activities in all stages of school education, in pre and post-natal phases (mother&infant), children with disabilities/special needs, the F.Method as a supporting practice for performers (musicians, dancers, actors).
